L’Annonciade, musée d’art moderne de Saint-Tropez, va doubler sa surface pour atteindre un total de 1 200 m², soit 600 m² supplémentaires afin de créer un espace pour les expositions temporaires, un accueil plus adapté et une boutique plus imposante. « Nous voulons un édifice plus ouvert sur le port et qui attire les passants ”, souligne la municipalité qui pilote l’opération à l’origine de la création de nouveaux espaces sur une partie du jardin actuel et sur l’emprise du bâtiment des Torpilleurs. Programmés dès cette année, ces travaux d’envergure devraient aboutir à l’horizon 2029.
L’Annonciade, Saint-Tropez’s museum of modern art, is set to double in size, expanding to a total of 1,200 sq m with an additional 600 sq m of exhibition space. The ambitious redevelopment will include new galleries for temporary exhibitions, a redesigned reception area and a significantly larger museum shop. The project also aims to create a building that is more open to the harbour and more inviting to visitors, with new spaces extending into part of the current garden and the site of the former Torpilleurs building. Scheduled to begin this year, these major works are expected to be completed by 2029.
