Fraîchement sorti des chantiers de Saint-Nazaire, le plus grand voilier au monde a mis le cap sur Saint-Tropez. Une visite inaugurale était organisée à bord courant mai avec notamment Mme le maire, Sylvie Siri, qui a pu dire toute sa fierté de voir ce joyau flottant, fleuron du savoir-faire français qui renouvelle le concept des croisières en mer, choisir pour port d’attache le village. « Depuis toujours tournée vers la mer, notre ville poursuit ainsi son histoire maritime en accueillant les projets les plus ambitieux et les plus prestigieux », a-t-elle déclaré à l’issue de l’escale de l’Orient Express Corinthian qui sera rejoint par un second voilier de la même lignée, actuellement en cours de construction.
Fresh from the shipyards of Saint-Nazaire, the world’s largest sailing yacht has set course for Saint-Tropez. An inaugural visit was held on board in May, attended by Sylvie Siri, Mayor of Saint-Tropez, who expressed her pride in seeing this floating jewel and showcase of French expertise choose the village as its home port. “Always connected to the sea, our town continues its maritime history by welcoming the most ambitious and prestigious projects,” she declared following the arrival of the Orient Express Corinthian. The vessel will soon be joined by a second yacht of the same class, currently under construction.
