Les 24e Voiles latines de Saint-Tropez du 23 au 26 mai
Nouvelle mise à l’honneur du patrimoine maritime méditerranéen qui va s’afficher à quai quatre jours durant le long du môle Jean-Réveille dans le cadre des Voiles latines. Un rassemblement de pointus qui afflueront de divers ports de Méditerranée pour se réunir autour de la tartane Sant Troupes. A la manœuvre, la commune, le port et la Société Tropézienne des Voiliers de tradition présidée par cette figure locale qu’est Jean-Claude Moreu. Si les sorties en mer du week-end en baie tropézienne sont avant tout un moment de retrouvailles tout ce qu’il y a de plus conviviales entre les équipages qui ont toujours à cœur d’échanger sur leurs techniques de navigation et de restauration, des animations à terre sont également prévus à l’attention du public. En prévision cette année, l’atelier de matelotage et cordage « Tonton Roger », du nom de l’association qui s’occupe du maintien du patrimoine marin avec une exposition sur l’histoire de la corderie. Autre « corde » à son arc, un stand qui permettra d’avoir droit à une démonstration des techniques de nasses traditionnelles en vannerie ainsi que la présentation des outils y afférents. L’association La Barca dels Mestres d’Aixa s’attachera pour sa part aux techniques de charpente de marine avec Jérémy & Cécile Crochat à la barre. Le tout dans une ambiance chaleureuse assurée par la présence des petits bateaux aux jolies coques colorées, alignés tout proche de la tour du Portalet. Deux sorties à vocation avant tout conviviale sont prévues en mer durant le week-end pour les équipages. Le samedi entre 11h et 14h, avec un pique-nique non loin de chez B.B., en baie des canebiers, puis le lendemain nouveau départ entre 10 h et 13 h. La manifestation se conclura par une remise de prix publique le dimanche à partir de 14 h 30 heures sur le môle, ponctuée de récompenses symboliques, l’essentiel étant, une fois encore de participer !
New Celebration of Mediterranean Maritime Heritage at the Voiles Latine for four days, the Mediterranean maritime heritage will take center stage along the Jean-Réveille pier as part of the Voiles Latines event. A gathering of pointus—traditional Mediterranean fishing boats—will arrive from various ports across the region to rally around the tartane Sant Troupes. Spearheading the event are the local municipality, the port authorities, and the Société Tropézienne des Voiliers de Tradition, led by the well-known local figure Jean-Claude Moreu. While the weekend’s sea outings in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez primarily serve as a convivial reunion for crews eager to share their navigation and restoration techniques, land-based activities will also be organized for the public. This year’s program includes the Tonton Roger workshop on ropework and knot-tying, named after the association dedicated to preserving maritime heritage. The workshop will feature an exhibition on the history of rope-making. Another highlight is a stand showcasing traditional basket-weaving techniques for fishing traps (nasses), with live demonstrations and a display of the tools used in the craft. The association La Barca dels Mestres d’Aixa will focus on maritime carpentry techniques, led by Jérémy and Cécile Crochat. All of this will unfold in a warm and festive atmosphere, enhanced by the presence of colorful pointus, beautifully aligned near the Portalet Tower. Two friendly sea outings are scheduled over the weekend for the crews. On Saturday, between 11 AM and 2 PM, a picnic will take place near the Bay of Canebiers, close to Brigitte Bardot’s residence. The following day, another departure is planned between 10 AM and 1 PM. The event will conclude with a public award ceremony on Sunday at 2:30 PM on the pier, where symbolic prizes will be handed out—because, once again, the most important thing is to take part and enjoy the moment!

La Giraglia Loro Piana promet quatre jours de course côtière dans le Golfe de Saint-Tropez du 7 au 10 juin, avant le défi offshore de 241 milles vers Gênes, dont le départ sera donné le mercredi 11 juin à midi. Pour mémoire, l’événement rassemble une bonne centaine de voiliers monocoques. Une flotte diversifiée venue du monde entier, avec notamment de prestigieux maxi yachts avides de battre le record de la course au large qui reste de 14 heures et 56 minutes, détenu depuis 2012 par Esimit Europa 2 d’Igor Simcic. Loin de s’endormir sur ses lauriers, La Loro Piana Giraglia poursuit son évolution. Après avoir introduit une journée supplémentaire de course côtière, le comité d’organisation a dessiné de nouveaux parcours pour rendre la course dans le Golfe encore plus captivante.Classiques des classiques, la course au large de 241 milles imaginée en 1953, demeure elle inchangée, formant un triangle naturel « Saint-Tropez – rocher de la Giraglia – Gênes », que les grands voiliers parcourent généralement en quelque 24 heures. Les organisateurs se sont aussi attachés aux aspects pratiques à terre, optimisant les conditions afin de mieux accueillir les concurrents grâce notamment à un nouvel aménagement le long de la digue jusqu’à la Tour du Portalet. Une physionomie parfaite pour le« village des équipages », centre névralgique de la Giraglia Loro Piana. Des animations quotidiennes et la traditionnelle grande fête avant le départ au large, donneront vie à cette nouvelle édition organisée par le Yacht Club Italiano (en collaboration avec la Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez). Ce dernier sera une fois encore, le 14 juin prochain, l’hôte distingué de la cérémonie de remise des prix de cet événement qui s’inscrit dans le championnat méditerranéen IRC-UNCL et fait partie du Mediterranean Maxi Offshore Challenge 2025.
The Giraglia Loro Piana promises four thrilling days of coastal racing in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez from June 7 to 10, leading up to the legendary 241-nautical-mile offshore challenge to Genoa, which will start on Wednesday, June 11, at noon. This prestigious event gathers over a hundred monohull yachts starting at 9.14 meters in length, competing in the ORC and IRC divisions. The fleet is an exciting mix of international competitors, including elite maxi yachts determined to break the offshore race record of 14 hours and 56 minutes, held since 2012 by Esimit Europa 2, helmed by Igor Simcic. Far from resting on its laurels, the Loro Piana Giraglia continues to evolve. Following the introduction of an extra day of coastal racing, the race committee has designed new inshore courses to make the competition in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez even more dynamic and tactical.However, the classic 241-nautical-mile offshore race, conceived in 1953, remains unchanged. This iconic triangular route—Saint-Tropez, Giraglia Rock, Genoa— is typically completed by the largest yachts in around 24 hours. The organizers have also focused on improving onshore logistics. A revamped docking area along the breakwater, stretching to the Portalet Tower, has been designed to better accommodate competitors and create the perfect setting for the Crew Village, the heart of the event. Daily entertainment and the traditional pre-offshore race party will bring the atmosphere to life, making this edition an unmissable event. Hosted by the Yacht Club Italiano, in collaboration with the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez, the awards ceremony will take place on June 14, 2025 in Genoa. The Giraglia Loro Piana is part of the IRC-UNCL Mediterranean Championship and features in the prestigious Mediterranean Maxi Offshore Challenge 2025—securing its place as one of the most anticipated regattas of the year.
XXVe Trophée Bailli de Suffren départ de Saint-Tropez le 28 juin
Cette année marque le 25e anniversaire de la célèbre course croisière organisée par le Marenostrum Racing Club en hommage au Bailli de Suffren de Saint-Tropez, Vice Amiral de la Marine Royale sous le roi Louis XVI, Capitaine-Général de la flotte et Ambassadeur de l’Ordre Souverain de Malte. Au programme de cette édition forcément à part réservée aux yachts de tradition, le parcours initial de 2001, soit environ 600 milles nautiques en 12 jours de navigation entre Saint-Tropez et La Valette (Malte), avec escales festives à Bonifacio (Corse), Porto Rotondo (Sardaigne) et Trapani (Sicile). Parmi les inscrits, citons trois anciens vainqueurs (Lelantina, Yen Li, Eugenia V) et deux vénérables centenaires, Wiki et Alzavola. Ils seront présents le 28 juin pour le départ donné à l’issue des cérémonies protocolaires aux pieds de la Statue de Suffren sur le port, en présence de Pierre-Clive Agius, ambassadeur de Malte et Sylvie Siri, maire de Saint-Tropez.Cette « course de gentlemen » cultivant aussi un aspect festif, une soirée particulière ponctue chaque escale avec pour Bonifacio un thème « dîner Corse vêtu de blanc », à Porto Rotondo, une soirée Sarde et à Trapani, une soirée Corsaire.L’apothéose aura lieu lors de la cérémonie de clôture à Malte fixée cette année au 12 juillet. Elle comptera son lot de rituels comme la remise de la “Grand’Croix de l’Ordre Illustre et Vénérable des Très Honorables Chevaliers du Bailli de Suffren” au vainqueur dans chaque classe.Mais ce n’est pas tout ! Sera également honoré du “Sabre d’Honneur de l’Amiral Satan”, le vainqueur overall des classes “Tradition” et “Esprit de Tradition”. Le “sabre du Jedi” à la mode Star Wars ira lui au vainqueur des classes “Modernes de Style”. Encore plus fort, le gain de son poids en bouteilles estampillées “Mount Gay Rhum” sera remis au vainqueur overall après sa pesée en public, tandis que le “Sabre de bois” échoira au bateau arrivé dernier en temps réel.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the famous cruising race organized by the Marenostrum Racing Club in tribute to the Bailli de Suffren of Saint-Tropez, Vice Admiral of the Royal Navy under King Louis XVI, Captain-General of the fleet, and Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta.For this special edition, exclusively reserved for classic yachts, the original 2001 course will be followed: approximately 600 nautical miles over 12 days of sailing between Saint-Tropez and Valletta (Malta), with festive stopovers in Bonifacio (Corsica), Porto Rotondo (Sardinia), and Trapani (Sicily).Among the registered participants are three former winners—Lelantina, Yen Li, and Eugenia V—as well as two venerable centenarians, Wiki and Alzavola. They will be present on June 28 for the departure, which will take place after the official ceremonies at the foot of the Suffren Statue in the port, in the presence of Pierre-Clive Agius, Ambassador of Malta, and Sylvie Siri, Mayor of Saint-Tropez.This “gentlemen’s race” also cultivates a festive spirit, with a special evening at each stopover: a “White Corsican Dinner” in Bonifacio, a Sardinian Night in Porto Rotondo, and a Pirate Night in Trapani.The grand finale will take place at the closing ceremony in Malta, scheduled for July 12 this year. The event will feature its traditional rituals, including the awarding of the “Grand Cross of the Illustrious and Venerable Order of the Most Honorable Knights of the Bailli de Suffren” to the winner in each class.But that’s not all! The overall winner of the “Tradition” and “Spirit of Tradition” classes will also be honored with the “Admiral Satan’s Sword of Honor.”In a playful twist, the “Jedi Sword,” inspired by Star Wars, will be awarded to the winner of the “Modern Style” classes. Even more exciting, the overall winner will receive their weight in bottles of “Mount Gay Rum” after a public weighing ceremony. Meanwhile, the “Wooden Sword” will go to the last boat to finish in real-time.
